When Jesus was on earth, he had a lot to say about love, but not everyone loved him. Instead, Jesus’ opponents hated him, attacked him, and saw him as extreme — dangerous — revolutionary — a radical. And they had a point! The things Jesus taught about loving God and loving others challenged the status quo and changed the world forever. That’s pretty radical. In this 4-week series from the book of James, we’ll look at four ways Jesus invites us to love according to his revolutionary example. These ideas might seem simple, but when we choose to listen more than we speak, refuse to play favorites, watch our words, and fight for peace, we’ll see just how radical Jesus’ teachings really are.
Grow Students Bible Study: 9:00 AM [Student Center]
Each Sunday our 6th– 12th graders gather in our Student Center on High Street to Study and Grow together in our faith through Sunday School. We have great teachers and of course wonderful students who make this time a great way to get involved with students your own age and to learn about the God we worship here at Calvary.
Student Life: 6:30 PM [Student Center]
Every Wednesday evening, come join our students as we meet up at the Cafe in the Student Center to grab a snack and drink before an awesome time of student-led worship followed by our small group D-Teams. We’ll all gather back for a group lesson from our student minister. Hang around afterward for our Open Gym starting at 8:30 PM.
